Journal: Brazil to Austria
22. December 2009
8 am: get up and ready for my flight to Austria
10 am: the driver picks me up
12 pm: after waiting for around 30 min I can finally check-in and get rid of my heavy luggage. Due to a wrong information on the Lufthansa website I have to pay 100 Euros because I‘m only allowed to take 2 bags each 20 kilos with me. (Not 2 x 32 kilos, as I thought)
12:30 pm: security check and waiting for more 45 min to get that stupid stamp from the federal police.
1:55 pm: Boarding time
3 pm: finally leaving the airport and FLY!!
4:30 pm: we head back to São Paulo because one of the 4 engines broke down. They have to replace it with a new one, which no one knows how long it takes because as a matter of fact they first have to find an engine like this... somewhere in Brazil (or something like this. They told us, there is no surrogate engine at the Guarulhos airport.)
6 pm: we arrive at the airport Guarulhos where we actually started the flight.
7:45 pm: finally getting out of the airplane and grabbing our bags again. Then waiting for busses and taxis to bring us to the hotel, that Lufthansa spontaneously booked for us.
9:30 pm: I get the last taxi and have to wait for every one else that arrived before me has to do the check in for the hotel.
10:15 pm: I‘m checked in and go to my room. Then I have dinner in the restaurant – for free of course.

2:15 am: after exploring the hotel I go to my room and write a little bit for this entry here. At around 10 a. m. we‘ll probably find out more information about our flight.
8:15 am: breakfast, I‘m really not hungry. We get an information sheet at the reception, saying that:
at 10:30 am we‘ll be informed about the further „plan“ (if there is one). If the technical problem (>> a broken engine!) is already fixed we will soon check-in and finally really fly to Munich.
8:16 am: I‘m bored.
I met a few Austrians and Germans but since the European mentality is not so open-minded as I am (Brazil changed me, I guess) I don‘t want to join their „group“. Also they are only (young) men and I don‘t think they really want a little girl around. oooohhhhhh.... DISCRIMINATION!! naaaa... just kidding.
10:30 am: We got the following information
we have to get on another airplane but every flight is fully booked. So they fly with a plane, that should actually go to Dubai, to São Paulo. It will arrive at around 11 pm tonight and we will finally fly to Munich at around 1-1:30 am (24. December)
9 pm: the bus takes us to the airport
9:30 pm: all passengers are ready to do the check-in at the airport but we are told that they‘ll open the check-in only at 11 pm. One woman talkes with the ground staff at the airport and they open the check-in at...
9:45 pm: we finally check-in
11 pm: not even 50 % of the passengers have checked in. We are told that departure is not at 1 am (24. Dec) but at 2 am. boarding time at 1 am.
24. December 2009
1:30 am: they finally open the doors to get on the plane.
2:15 am: we take off in São Paulo. Since the airplane is so huge everyone has at least 2 seats. It only takes us 10,5 hours to fly to Munich. (with the other airplane it would have taken us 12,5 hours)
4 pm: arrival in Munich
4:30 pm: we finally get our luggage
4:45 pm: I meet my family and we drive home.
7 pm: we arrive at my home
