It‘s actually a joke from a hilarious Aussie comedian, Carl Barron. But I remember having the same conversation with somebody (don't know who it was though) – only that I didn‘t reply with: „Not if you live there!“ 

Coconut

After about 2 weeks in Brazil I made all the effort to finally say my first words in Portuguese. I figured that chocolate mousse is ,mousse de chocolate‘ so coconut mousse must be ,mousse de coco‘. It was only then when I learned how important word stress actually is. I had to learn ‘the hard way‘ :D

No short hair falling in my face any more. It grew back (who would have expected that?!).

Under My Umbrella

True story! 

I was so happy to have my brollie with me! There was no way I would have gone without it. I remember one time there was this big fat spider that sat on my umbrella. It would have landed right on my face! 

Some days in the morning you can hear my uncle swearing as he walks through the garden to his car. You just know he ran into another spider :)

Private Zumba

I usually go to the gym late in the evening when there‘s (almost) no one there.  

I always take my salsa music with me. That makes me want to move. So when there‘s nobody there I just start dancing. But last time the receptionist checked on something. I don‘t even know what. By the time I heard the door he must have already seen me. 

When I left I heard him say my name to his colleague. 

So awkward...

Water Melon

I can only agree with my cousin. Water melon is absolutely delicious! 

Favourite summer fruit of all time!

My auntie used to buy a lot of water melons. I‘d be the one cutting them up and serving to the family. My cousin explained to me how much he loved water melon.

I‘m still not comfortable with spiders but I find them sort of fascinating. You learn to live with them once you were in Australia.

Bought a new diary. It‘s tiny (8 x 11 x 1 cm)! I didn‘t like the cover though so I made my own.

Smell it?

I remember that day pretty well. I‘ve just met this friend for the first time in my life. He seemed to be a little embarrassed about the smell in his car, which by the way I didn‘t smell at all! So when he apologised for it I reckon it was rather risky to make a joke. (Maybe he wouldn‘t know I was just kidding). 

His reaction: first a bit shocked but then a funny „Aaahhh! That‘s how you play it! Good to know!“ which cleared the air.

Babies On Board

Simple math.
Like there are ‘unwritten laws‘ about travelling by train there are also about travelling by plane. No matter how quiet and well behaved your baby usually is, the noise (and I think air pressure as well) on a plane is just too much for your cute little offspring.

My granddad gave me some drawing utensils, eg transparent paper, ,rotring‘ pens, etc 

I still haven‘t got the hang of it but I‘m working on it.

Now that I live in Vienna I‘ve come across a lot of art (not only at uni where I‘m studying Art History); as in buildings, statues, cladding, painting, etc 

I‘ve learned to love especially the style of Art Nouveau or ‘Jugendstil‘. Here are just a few examples:

While drawing a new banner for the blog I wanted to try a little bit of Jugendstil myself. Slowly but surely I‘m creating something.  I‘m not quite sure if it worked out well but I‘m still learning. 

I still haven't made up my mind about the colour. I may do another one just in black. I don't know...

While I was wasting time at the airport in Vienna I saw this guy waiting at the same gate. I can‘t help but find those long sleeve tattoos (or whatever you call them) rather attractive.

Hand Out

Yesterday I made myself a new stencil for the comics. 

I cut out the windows and used the paper that was left over. Perfect size for cute, little drawings. Probably useful as some sort of ad. Now that I‘ve written the address of my blog on it I feel kind of stupid and I don‘t think I‘ll actually hand them out. 

Also I found some other sketches I did a while ago, when I was in Australia. 

The Ring

I found this huge, ugly ring. 

Took me quite some time to get it off. I was afraid I‘d have to buy it. 

I've been busy

Just had a look at my folder where I keep all the drawings, sketches and originals for the comics. Seems like I‘ve been quite busy over the last few months. There are more at home in Upper Austria.

The smaller the younger

My dad was about 3–4 years old. It‘s so cute how toddlers combine things: the plane is small, so it must be young and not fully grown. 

Working Visa

I wasn‘t entirely sure so I just looked it up on the internet: it seems to be almost impossible to get a working visa for Australia. At least when you are Austrian. You first need to fulfil 100 of criteria and then you still need to pass a test blah blah blah

I‘m so doomed...

Just a little birthday card I made for a friend of mine. Took me quite some time to get it done. But it was great fun! :)

Highway

You may have noticed that there hasn‘t been any #79. I couldn‘t upload it for I‘d have risked getting killed by my little sister. (...even though I wouldn‘t quite understand why...)

I just couldn‘t resist. It was too funny. Sorry, lil sis. 

I reckon everyone has some of those moments where we just don‘t see the obvious things lying right in front of us.

Next Year's Resolution

(This one I actually made a few weeks ago...)

He said he‘d be going to the gym again. His own goal was > before the beginning of the new year.
